Gwen Gage is Service Designer at the Design Institute for Health, a radical collaboration between Dell Medical School and the College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin.
Gwen comes from industrial design where her work often focused on global health issues. Her graduate thesis addressed gaps in the malaria prevention system in rural sub-Saharan Africa. She presented the two resulting products, a medication-delivery tool and a mosquito net for social spaces at the 2018 Dutch Design Week. Prior to joining the Design Institute, Gwen was a design fellow at IDEO CoLab where she used emerging technologies to improve childhood nutrition.
Outside of work, she pursues other passions including hiking, paddlesports and making outdoor gear.
Gwen holds a B.A. in Geophysical Sciences and a B.A. in Slavic Languages and Literature from University of Chicago as well as a Masters of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute.
